During the Middle Ages soap makers in the Castilla region of Spain began to make a simple but elegant soap using olive oil instead of animal fat. Castile soap was so exceptional that even today it is still considered the queen of soaps. Over time the recipe has been adulterated, so that most castile soaps sold today are made from a mixture of cheaper vegetable oils, and little, if any, olive oil. In the interest of maintaining the heritage of soap making, my Virgin Vegan is authentic castile, made from 100% cold pressed olive oil. It’s a step back in time that will make today’s bath a real pleasure! Vegans and non-vegans will appreciate Virgin Vegan's satiny lather and gentle cleansing. A comfortable soap for those with normal, dry, or sensitive skin. A nice pure soap for babies and for those who want to baby their skin. (Note: Palm Oil is NEVER an ingredient in Saratoga Suds soaps! Why not? Indonesian and Malaysian Rain Forests are being destroyed in order to meet the ever growing demands for palm oil for use in soaps and other products, even though it's a non-essential ingredient and there are alternatives! I've never visited a rain forest but I am morally opposed to their destruction)
